A brief history of "Inner Earth Creations".
In 1968 Willie A Shaffer, Johns father, started a hobby cutting stones and minerals. He cut different shapes out of stones and place them in settings. He made necklaces, bracelets, earings and rings. He started out by giving his creations away as gifts, and selling them to friends. In 1977 he started his own business and named it "The Rock Sellar". It started out in the cellar of his home. In 1978 he taught me how to cut stones and minerals. I helped him with his business until I joined the United States Air Force as a firefighter in 1986. In 1990 I seperated from the military and became a civilian full time firefighter. I presently work for The City of Somersworth, New Hampshire. In 1988 I met my wife Barb. She does nursing for Seacoast Hospice. We reside in the New England area. Willie Shaffer was a Chemical Engineer for the B F Goodrich Tire Company for 50 years. He worked for the chemical division in Cleveland, Ohio. Unfortunately in September of 2006, Willie passed away unexpectedly. At that time Barb and I decided we wanted to keep the tradition in the family.
Barb and I started our own business in January of 2007, and we named it "Inner Earth Creations". We went out and registered our name and purchased equipment to set up our own lapidary shop. We started creating our own line of jewelry. We make necklaces, earings, bracelets and rings. We hand cut all of our own pendants, for our necklaces. We also hand bead all of our chains. We named this business "In Memory of Willie A Shaffer". We also started a rose quartz line of jewelry. We donate 15 percent of rose quartz sales (not profits) to the Breast Cancer Foundation, in memory of the patients that Barb takes care of at her job. We recently started making a line of "Seaglass" and "Beachstone" jewelry along with "Beachstone Lamps".
Barb and I really enjoy making jewelry. We have our jewelry in local stores around the seacoast. We also sell jewelry at craft fairs and rock & mineral shows. We hope that if you purchase a piece of our jewelry, you will enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.
